Vendors often offer optional features for their strain gage products. Most of these options are not crucial. They are mainly to reduce the installation time and effort and/or achieve certain performance characteristics.

Common optional features includes,
-	built-in solder dots,
-	preattached leadwire cables,
-	integral terminals,
-	encapsulation,
-	individual furnished resistance values.
