EMX was established in 1987 with the primary goal of supplying the gate, overhead door and parking industries with innovative sensors and controls. Today EMX employees are dedicated to designing and manufacturing EMX's products. EMX products are used in a great spectrum of applications and in many industries. They help companies in access control, security, fence, gate and door operator and parking markets. In industrial automation and process control EMX sensors are used in automotive, packaging, labeling, metal stamping, paper and wood processing, plastics, electronics and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Their contract manufacturing division specializes in radiation measurement and medical imaging industries.

EMX uses in-house manufacturing capabilities to assemble and test all of their products. EMX has a fully automated surface mount assembly line capable of placing over 20,000 parts per hour.
