ITW Polymer Castings specializes in Zanite ® polymer composite castings and filled structures for use in the machine tool, instrumentation and high precision markets. Zanite ® is a quartz-epoxy based polymer composite castable material used by ITW Polymer Technologies to replace cast iron, aluminum, and steel and offers the following benefits:

  • Short production times

Zanite ® dampens vibration 30 times better than aluminum, 45 times better than steel, and up to 10 times better than cast iron. Zanite ® bases do not require painting and offer excellent corrosion resistance and are not affected by most industrial cutting fluids and oils. Zanite ® will give you more flexibility by allowing you to integrate custom linear ways, hydraulic lines, threaded inserts, cutting fluid and conduit piping into the polymer base. Once molds and tooling are released to production, Zanite ® castings can be produced and delivered within a week, ready to be assembled and greatly reducing WIP costs.

Zanite ®can also be used to backfill a steel structure to dampen vibration. Filled structures are used for low volume custom applications and offer the benefits of Zanite without incurring the cost of a mold. Zanite ® filled structures typically allow for a quick turnaround and lower cost when compared to cast iron and aluminum. With their 20-ton bridge crane, they have the capacity for your large weldment or casting.

ITW Philadelphia Resins is a manufacturer of highly specialized engineered epoxy systems.
