Richards Industries began as the Jordan Valve Company in 1947. The cornerstone of the Jordan Valve product line is the sliding gate seat, a unique and superior seat design that provides many advantages over conventional regulators and control valves.

Jordan Valve is a Division of Richards Industries, an ISO 9000 certified manufacturer of a broad range of products for the process and steam industries. Known for strict quality standards, long life, and fast delivery, Jordan Valve has developed to include pressure regulators, back pressure regulators, temperature regulators, pneumatic control valves, electric control valves, precision low flow control valves, and sanitary products.

In 1983, Richards Industries added the Hex Valve Division, a line of instrument manifolds, orifice block valves, gauge valves, needle valves, and block & bleed valves. Hex Valve is known for supplying high quality products with quick deliveries to the petrochemical, chemical, petroleum, pulp & paper, food processing, and primary metal industries, to name just a few of the areas served.

In 1986, Bestobell Steam joined Richards Industries, expanding their product range to include steam traps and related auxiliary products. Like the Jordan Valve product line, Bestobell Steam began with a unique "delta element" design that offers many advantages over traditionally designed steam traps. Over the years, the product line has grown to offer complete steam system solutions to the industry.

Marwin Ball Valves joined Richards Industries in 1998. Marwin manufactures a wide range of manual ball valves and automated control systems including three-piece valves, two-piece valves, flanged valves, three-way valves, automated ball valves, fire-safe valves, and other specialty ball valves to meet the most demanding service requirements.

In 2001, SmartWatch joined the Richards Industries Valve Group. SmartWatch is a continuous monitoring system, designed to detect leakage in normally closed valves, where the process media is vapor, gas or steam and steam traps, both modulating and cyclic types. SmartWatchTM has been designed to be Intrinsically Safe to Zone 0, Division 1.
