Fiber optic Universal media converter SFP to SFP - FIB1-1000DS
 
The FIB1-1000DS is the state of the art versatile optical fiber media converter.
FIB1-1000DS can accomodate any type of SFP optical modules covering various data interfaces like Fast and Giga Ethernet, FDDI, STM-1, STM-4, OC1, OC3, OC12, OC24 and 1G Fiber Channel. Unit is offering unparalleled flexibility and easy migration from short-haul to long haul fiber connections by simply changing the optical module interface.

 
It has two SFP(Small Form Pluggable) slots that can accomodate any type of SFP optical module, like Ethernet 1000Base-SX, LX, LHX, ZX, WDM or CWDM type, multimode and singlemode. Unit allows the most flexible configuration for optical conversions, allowing any SFP module to be inserted in any of the slots. You can convert multimode to singlemode or WDM or CWDM optical signals or repeat optical links when needed, if optical budget is too short and a circuit can accomodate an active repeater.
FIB1-1000DS supports NMS functions for Link-Loss-Forwarding, Remote-Monitoring-Status, and Loop-Back-Test. These optional features are especially useful when the standalone units are linked to one of rack type units with SNMP management.
The uniqueness of FIB1-1000DS converter series is given by the ability to convert from standalone media converter to fiber optic card for FRM301 chassis, in matter of minutes. In an always changing and growing networking environment, such a versatile feature allows network operators to switch to higher density and aggregation hubs without the need to purchase new fiber optic converters. This simple, but so reliable idea, made the FIB1-1000DS media converter one of the best choices of media converters for data carriers and service providers.

Rack mount chassis for 16 fiber optic media converters - FRM301

FRM301 is the perfect choice for aggregating standalone media converters. Up to 16 media converters of any type from the FIB1 series can be loaded into FRM301. FIB1 fiber optic media converters can have various intrefaces like: Fast and Giga Ethernet, E1/T1, STM1/STM4, OC1/3/12/24, FDDI, Fibre Channel or serial synchronous and asynchronous data ports.

The chassis can be installed in 19" or 23" rack environment, and provides hot swappable redundant power supply for AC or DC power as well as an optional SNMP management system card.

The key feature of FRM301 is the seamless integration of any standalone media converter. In an always changing world of communications and data networks, network administrators can easily upgrade their capacity by installing an FRM301 chassis and insert all available standalone FIB1 media converters as cards in the new system. FRM301 offers the ability to manage all the installed media converters through SNMP into any powerful professional GUI NMS.
