The SCS process is a surface cleaning and polishing process for strip steel.  The material can be fed as either coil , sheet or plate. All grime, oil, mill scale and rust is removed, leaving a 'white glove clean' surface that is exceptionally smooth.

The most amazing proerty of SCS processed steel is its ability to resist rusting without protective oil or coatings. After ordinary hot band has been SCS processed, existing rust is removed and it WILL NOT RUST again if stored in a dry indoor environment.

SCS carbon steel sheet or plate is used by small job shops and major fabricators alike to make a wide variety of steel products more economically, with better quallity, than ever before. SCS in sheet or plate form is prized because it laser cuts and plasma cuts faster than hot band or HRPO: 15 -25% increases are common.

Using SCS steel strip (coil) is a allows rollformers or tube and pipe producers to deliver a better end product at lower cost. Not only is SCS strip smooth, clean, oil-free and rust resistant, the SCS process can make dramatic improvements in the shape of problem coils. SCS flat rolled steel in strip/coil form coils is very popular among steel service centers. Why? Coils offer flexibility to slit, blank and further fabricate the material, adding more value to the SCS.

SCS is a  mechanical brushing surface treatment applied to flat rolled steel that improves hot rolled black strip, making it a better base material for manufacturing. This environmentally-friendly process gives hot band sheets or coils a clean, rust-resistant ‘cold rolled’ surface ready for fabrication or painting.
