Airbag Filters

KnitMesh Technologies knitted mesh airbag filters have been specially developed to prevent incandescent particles from entering or damaging an airbag and to cool the expanding gas following actuation.

Incorporated in airbag inflator systems, knitted mesh airbag filters use uniformly compressed knitted wire mesh elements to trap particulates from the propellant and to cool the expanding gas.

These elements are normally manufactured from large diameter stainless steel or carbon steel wire and are suitable for use in driver's side, passenger's side and side door inflator designs. Density can be varied according to degree of filtration efficiency required and elements are often highly compressed.

Cadnit Copper Cleaning Mesh

KnitMesh Technologies CadnitTM copper cleaning mesh is made from a highly flexible scouring material and has been designed for a wide range of heavy duty cleaning applications.

Cadnit™ cleaning copper is knitted as a continuous flat stocking that is approximately 125mm wide. The flatness of Cadnit™ provides superb scouring capabilities, while the softness of the copper removes the risk of scratching precision steel work surfaces during cleaning.

Cadnit™ copper gauze provides two cleaning grades in one. Use as supplied for normal cleaning, or inside-out for superior scouring.

Catalytic Converter Mesh Wraps

KnitMesh Technologies mesh wraps have been designed to protect the fragile ceramic honeycomb brick within a catalytic converter from vibration and shock damage.

Normally constructed from crimped knitted wire mesh, often in conjunction with an integral strip of intumescent mat material, catalytic converter mesh wraps are usually joined to create a one-piece component that is easily fitted over the ceramic brick during the canning process. The tiny springs that are created during mesh knitting cushion the ceramic brick, preventing damage from the most severe vibration a catalytic converter might experience.

Anti-Vandal Knitted Mesh

KnitMesh Technologies offers a range of specially formulated knitted wire mesh products for use in anti-slash and body armour applications.

Flexible and heavy-duty, knitted mesh provides a structure that is slash-resistant and is regularly used in bus, train and underground seating to protect against attack by vandals. Knitted mesh is also ideal for reinforcing lorry side curtains to guard against theft and vandalism.
