Cooling is the transfer of thermal energy via thermal radiation, heat conduction or convection. In the field of electronics, cooling becomes vitally important for today's higer clock speed, smaller footprint, more and more delicate electronic devices.
The most widely used cooling device is probably fans. From factories, to living rooms; from computers to automobiles, fans are all over the place. In addition to fans, there are may different types of cooling devices:
Heat exchanger
Radiators (commonly seen in automobiles)
Inter-cooler
Charge air cooler
Coolant
Cooling towers, as used in large industrial plants and power stations
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning)
Heat pipe
Heat sink (most new CPU and GPU inside computers require heat sinks)
