Forced resonance of a mechanical structure can lead to disaster such as bridge failure.
However, I had an experiment on the frequency response of a clamp-free cantilever beam but the beam did not break at its resonance frequency. I am guessing the reason as the effect of air damping. Would you mind giving me some idea, please?
