Message No. 21888, Started by 1calvin on 10/21/12 Heat Transfer Coefficient HI There,   I've been challenged with developing a heat transfer coefficient using process water for forced convective cooling a very large aluminum ingot measuring something like 20 ft x 6 x 3 (not sure exactly just yet).  The temperature of the ingot varies as the water flows directly down the sides.  Can you point me in the right direction if you have a model/formula or calculator I could use?  I'll commit to a subscrption if you have a way to help me.
