Vicat Softening vs Durometer Is there a conversion from Vicat to Shore A Durometer that anyone has created? Vicat is the temp at which a 1mm diameter flat tipped indenter under a 10N load creates a 1mm indention. Shore A Durometer is measured from a 0 to 2.54mm indention from a flat tipped 0.79mm diameter tapered to 1.25mm diameter indenter under a 6.32N load? Since both methods are using an indenter under a specific load to measure hardness, it appears Vicat is measuring the temperature when the material durometer becomes ~60A or close to when the Durometer drops off the D scale. Is this a correct interpretation?
