My dad's company buys hypodermic needle stock cut to length and deburred for use in melt-blowing dies.  Maybe you can purchase the wire this way for production.

We would deburr musid wire used to clean these nozzles with a belt grinder, just twisting the wire as the end rests on the moving belt.  W may be harder than steel, but I'm fairly certain it will yield to corundum on a high speed belt.
