Current Topic:
What Programming Language is best for Mechanical Engineers?
Most engineers are required to take Fortran or whatever sophmore year, and then never see it again for life.  To me, once I got the if, then statement, programming no longer gave me any stimulation, because logic only gets somebody so far.  However, I can understand your fancy of the beauty of modern programming languages, and I encourage you to develop your skills further .

Unfortunately, you will need to choose whether you want to become a mechanical engineer or a programmer, you can't do both.  However, I encourage mechanical engineering, since this is an engineering forum.

Just do what you enjoy, and if it turns out bad, then its ok to switch, as long as you learned something out of it and worked hard at it.
