Current Topic:
only bad attitude causes economic loss in peaceful use of atomic power plants
Probably the most powerful objections surrounding the generation of nuclear power center on ensuring reactor vessel integrity against large seismic events, and the handling and final disposition of spent reactor fuel.

That stated, there are reactors dotting the globe that have been successfully operated on a continuous basis for decades without incident, and the spent fuel from those reactors has been transported and vaulted for just as long, again, without incident.  Functionally, then, these issues have been surmounted; though they may, logically, be subject to further improvement.

Media whores being what they are, however, We, the People, only hear about on-line nuclear power plants when there is a catastrophic failure; Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, &c.  So, if there is an albatross to be borne in this debate, hang it about the collective necks of the talking heads on the nightly news.

Pessimists and fearmongers all, they'll be our damnation if the lawyers and insurance agents don't beat them to the punch.
