Current Topic:
only bad attitude causes economic loss in peaceful use of atomic power plants
"There isn't any more rivers left to dam to generate more hydroelectric power. so where is the power going to come from? "

We had a warning here in the North East that there may be rolling blackouts in some outlaying areas due to lack of natural gas. Some plants burn coal and gas, some don't.

The price of Central Appalachian coal has doubled in the last two years, meaning they already use more coal and also export more. (there is a futures contract for coal (YE?), any idea why it isn't trading anywhere? They even trade butter.)

Soon, coal may be all there is left to burn. If the monkeys get cold enough, they WILL allow the burning of coal.

Looks like engineers will have additional responsibilities soon, like: get us over the hump. Take over. Otherwise we will need to study all the layers of abstraction in the movie "Planet of the Apes" more intensely than we have had a need so foar.
