Current Topic:
Calculating trajectory of ball rolling down slope and off launch ramp
It is homework, but not as you might expect.  We have been assigned a design project where we must come up with a machine that will sort balls of this nature.  I have come up with the idea of using a ramp mechanism and using the different trajectories of the balls to get them into separate hoppers at the bottom.  In order to test the suitablity of the design I need to simulate it within the set parameters.

The question I ask is one I set myself and I get no credit directly for answering it, if the design turns out to be unsuitable I'll get none at all for this particular exercise.

I never actually asked for a full solution, only a pointer from where to start looking.

I hope this makes you feel more comfortable helping me.
