Current Topic:
How many watts to cool my equipment?
In air conditioning systems, we talk about coefficient of performance instead of efficiency, because and air conditioner can remove more heat than the electrical power consumption.  Coefficient of performance depends on the inside and outside temperature and the design of the equipment.  For a small domestic unit, the coefficient of performance is about 2 - so an air conditioner will use 500W of electricity to remove 1000W of heat.
