Current Topic:
COTS Vibration Testing
Cessna is right, there is a little bit of the black arts in the proper design of vibration fixtures. Shaking a board, by itself, in a fixture with different vibration properties from the chassis it will be living in in real life will tell you very little about how well it will survive in the field. You really need to treat the assembly as a system instead of testing individual components, you may find that the two will interact in ways you would not have expected otherwise.
