Hypalon is the traenme of a clasof Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene (CSM). Hypalon has good to excellent resistance to dilute acids, alcohols, ozone, oxidation, weather, and sunlight. It is generally suited for static applications due to its limited compression set resistance.

O-Ring material Hypalon is sometimes ok for static seal but not for dynamic seal in the environment containing chemicals such as Glacial Acetic Acid, Acetyl Chloride, Acetylene Gas, Acrylonitrile, ASTM Oil Three, Automatic Transmission Fluid, Benzine (Ligroin), Chlordane, Diesel Oil, Diethylamine, Dowtherm A, Fuel Oil, Isopropyl Chloride, Isopropyl Ether, Methyl Ether, MIL-R-25576 (RP-1), Monovinyl Acetate, N-Hexaldehyde, Nitroethane, Nitromethane, Radiation, RP-1 (MIL-R-25576), Stearic Acid.
