Polyacrylate (ACM) is a class of copolymer of ethyl and acrylates. It is suitable for use in automotive automatic transmissions, steering systems, and other applications where petroleum and high temperature resistance are required. Polyacrylate also exhibits resistance to cracking when exposed to ozone and sunlight. It is however not recommended for applications where the elastomer will be exposed to brake fluids, chlorinated hydrocarbons, alcohol, or glycols. It also exhibits fair to low water resistance. Polyacrylate is suitable for dynamic and static seal of o-rings in the environment containing the following chemicals: Air below 200 C, Aluminium Chloride, Ammonium Chloride, Animal Oil, ASTM Fuel A, ASTM Oil One, ASTM Oil Three, ASTM Oil Two, Automatic Transmission Fluid, Benzine (Ligroin), Bunker Oil, Butane, Butter, Calcium Chloride, Calcium Nitrate, Carbonic Acid, Castor Oil, Tung Oil China Wood Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Corn Oil, Coal Tar Creosote, Crude Oil (Asphalt Base), Dow Corning 550, Elco 28 Lubricant, Ethane, Freon 113, FREON R134A, Fuel Oil, Petroleum Base Grease, Helium, Heptane, Hexane, Iso Octane, Animal Fat Lard, Linsed Oil, Petroleum Base Lubricating Oils, MIL-F-25558 (RJ-1), MIL-R-25576 (RP-1), Type 1 Fuel MIL-S-3136, MIL-S-81087, Mineral Oils, Neatsfoot Oil, Gas Nitrogen, N-Pentane, Peanut Oil, Pine Oil, Potassium Nitrate, Potassium Sulfate, Transformer Oil Pyranol, RJ-1 (MIL-F-25558), RP-1 (MIL-R-25576), Silicone Grease, Silicone Oils, Silver Nitrate, Sodium Chloride, Soyabean Oil, Stoddard Solvent, Type A Transmission Fluid.
O-Ring material Polyacrylate is usually suitable for static seal in the environment containing Ammonium Nitrate, Argon, ASTM Oil Four, Borax Solutions, Cyclohexane, Diesel Oil, Di-ester Lubricant MIL-L-7808, Ethyl Acetoacetate, Ethylene, Freon 22, Hydrogen Gas, JP 3 MIL-J5624, JP 6 MIL-J5624, Methane, Methanol, MIL-F-25656, MIL-G-25760, MIL-H-5606, JP-5 JP-4 JP-3 MIL-J 5624, MIL-L-25681, Naphtha, Natural Gas, Oleic Acid, Cold Oxygen, Ozone, Petroleum Oil, Producer Gas, Rapeseed Oil, Red Oil, Turbine Oil, Turpentine. O-Ring material Polyacrylate is sometimes ok for static seal but not for dynamic seal in the environment containing chemicals such as Dow Guard, Ethyl Chloride, Isopropyl Ether, Methyl Bromide, Phosphoric Acid, Radiation. Polyacrylate is not suitable for o-rings exposed in the environment containing chemicals such as Acetaldehyde, Acetamide, Glacial Acetic Acid, Acetic Anhydride, Acetophenone, Acetyl Chloride, Acrylonitrile, Alkazene, Aluminium Acetate, Aluminium Sulfate, Anhydrous Ammonia, Cold Gas Ammonia, Hot Gas Ammonia, Concentrated Ammonium Hydroxide, Ammonium Persulfate Solution, Ammonium Sulfate, Amyl Acetate, Amyl Alcohol, Amyl Chloronaphthalene, Aniline, Aniline Oil, Arachlor 1248, Askarel Transformer Oil, ASTM Fuel B, ASTM Fuel C, ASTM Fuel D, Beer, Benzaldehyde, Benzene, Benzene Sulfonic Acid, Benzoic Acid, Benzophenone, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Chloride, Bleach Liquor, Boric Acid, Brake Fluid, Bromine Gas, Bromobenzene, Butadiene Monomer, Butyl Alcohol, Butyl Carbitol, Butyl Cellosolve, Butyraldehyde, Calcium Carbonate, Calcium Hydroxide, Calcium Hypochlorite, Calcium Sulfide, Carbitol 2, Carbolic Acid (Phenol), Carbon Disulfide, Carbon Tetrachloride, Cellosolve, Chloracetic Acid, Chlorinated Solvents, Chlorine Dioxide, Chlorine Trifluoride, Dry Chlorine, Wet Chlorine, Chloroform, Chlorosulfonic Acid, Chrome Plating Solution, Chromic Acid, Coffee, Coolanol Monsanto, Creosylic Acid, Denatured Alcohol, Diacetone, Diacetone Alcohol, Dibutyl Phthalate, Dichloro-Butane, Diethylamine, Diethylamine Glycol, Dimethyl Formamide, Dimethyl Phthalate, Dioxane, Diphenyl, Dowtherm A, Ethanol, Ethyl Alcohol, Ethyl Benzene, Ethyl Benzoate, Ethyl Cellulose, Ethyl Chlorocarbonate, Ethyl Diamine, Ethyl Ether, Ethyl Hexanol, Ethyl Oxalate, Ethyl Pentachlorobenzene, Ethylene Dichloride, Ethylene Glycol, Ethylene Oxide, Ethylene Trichloride, Furan, Furfural, Furfuryl Alcohol, Gallic Acid, Automotive Gasoline, Gelatine, Glycerin, General Glycol, Hexyl Alcohol, Gas Hydrobromic Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrocyanic Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydroquinone, Isobutyl Alcohol, Isopropanol, Isopropyl Acetate, Isopropyl Chloride, Lacquer Solvents, Lacquers, Hydraulic Fluid (Phosphate Ester Type) Lindol, Lye, Maleic Acid, Methyl Acrylate, Methyl Butyl Ketone, Methyl Cellosolve, Methyl Chloride, Methyl Ether, Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK), Methyl Methacrylate, Methylene Chloride, MIL-H-7083, Milk, Monovinyl Acetate, Nitric Acid, Nitrobenzene, Nitroethane, Nitrogen Tetroxide, Nitromethane, Nitropropane, N-Octane, Oleum (Fuming Sulfuric Acid), 200-400F Oxygen, Phenol, Phenylhydrazine, Phosphoric Trichloride, Propanol, Propyl Acetate, Propyl Alcohol, Propylene, Propylene Oxide, 10E Pydraul, 540C 312F 230C Pydraul, 90E 65E 50E 30E Pydraul, 55 (Phosphate Ester) 53 43 Pyrogard 42, Skydrol 500, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Carbonate, Stearic Acid, Styrene Monomer, Sucrose Solutions, Sulfur Chloride, Dry Sulfur Dioxide Gas, Wet Sulfur Dioxide Gas, Liquefied Under Pressure Sulfur Dioxide, Sulfur Hexafluoride, Sulfur Trioxide, Sulfurous Acid, Tannic Acid, Tertiary Butyl Alcohol, Tertiary Butyl Mercaptan, Tetrabromoethane, Tetrachloroethane, Tetrachloroethylene, Tetrahydrofuran, Tetralin, Toluene, Triethanolamine, Varnish, Vinegar, Wagner 21B Brake Fluid, Fresh Water, Whiskey, Xylene.
