Vamac is the tradename of a class of Ethylene Acrylic elastomer (AEM). It offers a temperature range of -40F to +300F. It provides low temperature flexibility for automotive applications including automatic transmission seals, power steering seals and gear box seals. It also exhibits excellent resistance to weathering, ozone and air aging. Vamac is suitable for dynamic and static seal of o-rings in the environment containing the following chemicals: Acetamide, Air below 200 C, Aluminium Chloride, Aluminium Sulfate, Ammonium Chloride, Ammonium Phosphate, Ammonium Sulfate, Animal Oil, ASTM Fuel A, ASTM Oil Four, ASTM Oil One, ASTM Oil Two, Borax Solutions, Boric Acid, Butter, Butyl Alcohol, Calcium Carbonate, Calcium Chloride, Carbon Monoxide, Citric Acid, Coffee, Corn Oil, Crude Oil (Asphalt Base), Denatured Alcohol, Diesel Oil, Dow Corning 550, Elco 28 Lubricant, Ethyl Acetoacetate, Ethyl Hexanol, Ethylene Glycol, Fuel Oil, Gelatine, Glucose, Glycerin, General Glycol, Helium, Heptane, Hexane, Hexyl Alcohol, Petroleum Base Hydraulic Oil, Hydrogen Gas, Iodine, Iso Octane, Isobutyl Alcohol, Isopropanol, Animal Fat Lard, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Petroleum Base Lubricating Oils, Maleic Acid, Mercury, Methane, Methanol, Methyl Alcohol, Milk, Natural Gas, Gas Nitrogen, Octyl Alcohol, Oxalic Acid, Ozone, Potassium Nitrate, Propane, Propanol, Propyl Alcohol, Transformer Oil Pyranol, Radiation, Sea Water, Silicone Grease, Silicone Oils, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Chloride, Type A Transmission Fluid, Turbine Oil, Varnish, Fresh Water, Whiskey.
O-Ring material Vamac is usually suitable for static seal in the environment containing ASTM Oil Three, Beer, Butane, Calcium Hypochlorite, Tung Oil China Wood Oil, Phosphoric Acid, Soyabean Oil, Dry Sulfur Dioxide Gas, Wet Sulfur Dioxide Gas, Tannic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Vinegar. O-Ring material Vamac is sometimes ok for static seal but not for dynamic seal in the environment containing chemicals such as Acetic Anhydride, Cyclohexane, Ethyl Ether, Freon 11 (M), Freon 113, Freon TF, Kerosene, Mineral Oils, Stoddard Solvent. Vamac is not suitable for o-rings exposed in the environment containing chemicals such as Glacial Acetic Acid, Acetone, Anhydrous Ammonia, Cold Gas Ammonia, Hot Gas Ammonia, Concentrated Ammonium Hydroxide, Amyl Acetate, Aromatic Fuel 50%, ASTM Fuel C, Automatic Transmission Fluid, Benzaldehyde, Benzene, Benzine (Ligroin), Brake Fluid, Butyraldehyde, Carbolic Acid (Phenol), Carbon Tetrachloride, Cellosolve, Dry Chlorine, Wet Chlorine, Chloroform, Chlorosulfonic Acid, Chromic Acid, Coal Tar Creosote, Diacetone, Dibutyl Phthalate, Dimethyl Phthalate, Ethyl Chloride, Ethylene Dichloride, Ethylene Oxide, Ethylene Trichloride, Freon 22, Furfural, Automotive Gasoline, Isopropyl Acetate, Isopropyl Ether, Lacquer Solvents, Hydraulic Fluid (Phosphate Ester Type) Lindol, Methyl Acetate, Methyl Acrylate, Methyl Butyl Ketone, Methyl Cellosolve, Methyl Chloride, Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK), Methyl Methacrylate, Methylene Chloride, Naphtha, Nitrobenzene, Oleum (Fuming Sulfuric Acid), Phenol, 540C 312F 230C Pydraul, 90E 65E 50E 30E Pydraul, Skydrol 500, Styrene Monomer, Sulfuric Acid (Concentrated), Tetrahydrofuran, Toluene, Wagner 21B Brake Fluid, Xylene.
