Mineral Or Mineral / Glass Filled Molding Compounds, Heat Resistant PF is a subcategory of Phenol-formaldehyde Plastic. The additative is added during the manufacturing process. Its flexural modulus ranges from 1000 to 2000 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 6000 to 10000 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 11000 to 14000 MPa. Its compressive strength ranges from 22500 to 36000 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 0.26 to 0.6 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 %. Its specific gravity ranges from 1.42 to 1.84. Its coefficient of thermal expansion ranges from 19 to 38 x 10-6/°C. Its molding pressure ranges from 2 to 20 MPa.
Phenol-formaldehyde Plastic, also known as PF, is a thermoset polycondensate. The most common trade name is Bakelite. phenol-formaldehyde A naturally brittle material in pure form, it is able to be strengthened with fillers such as wood pulp and cellulose. PF is the first volume-produced synthesized polymer resin. It was widely used in early consumer electronic products such as telephones and radios.
