50% Long Glass Fiber Reinforced PA is a subcategory of Polyamide. The additative is added by weight during the manufacturing process. Its elastic modulus ranges from 2270 to 2300 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 37200 to 38000 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 54500 to 57000 MPa. Its compressive strength ranges from 42900 to 44900 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 8 to 9.2 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 2 to 2.1 %. Its molding pressure ranges from 10 to 20 MPa.
Polyamide, also known as PA, is a thermoplastic polycondensate. Common trade names are Ultramid and Zytel. nylon (PA 66) It has high lubricity and moderate strength. It is tough, inexpensive, but has poor dimensional stability due to water absorption (hygroscopic nature). PA is commonly used to make high-lubricity parts such as bearings, blow moldings molds, and clothing fabrics.
