30% Carbon Fiber EMI Shielding (conductive) Polyester is a subcategory of Polyester. The additative is added by weight during the manufacturing process. Its flexural modulus ranges from 2300 to 2700 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 22000 to 23000 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 29000 to 34000 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 1.2 to 1.5 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 1 to 3 %. Its specific gravity ranges from 1.41 to 1.42. Its molding pressure ranges from 5 to 20 MPa.
Polyester is a thermoplastic or thermoset polycondensate. Common trade names are Valox and Celanex. It has excellent dimensional stability, high dielectric strength, and good toughness. It has moderate chemical resistance, low resistance to strong acids and bases, and is notch sensitive. However, it is not recommended for outdoor use or in hot water. Polyester is very popular in making clothing and handles.
