7.0 - 30% Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester is a subcategory of Polyester. The additative is added by weight during the manufacturing process. Its flexural modulus ranges from 395 to 925 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 7200 to 12000 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 12400 to 19000 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 2.8 to 4.1 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 4.5 to 45 %. Its hardness ranges from 104 to 115 Rockwell R. Its specific gravity ranges from 1.3 to 1.47. Its molding pressure ranges from 5 to 17 MPa.
Polyester is a thermoplastic or thermoset polycondensate. Common trade names are Valox and Celanex. alloy It has excellent dimensional stability, high dielectric strength, and good toughness. It has moderate chemical resistance, low resistance to strong acids and bases, and is notch sensitive. However, it is not recommended for outdoor use or in hot water. Polyester is very popular in making clothing and handles.
