Glass Fiber Reinforced, Woven Cloth Polyester is a subcategory of Polyester. The additative is added during the manufacturing process. Its elastic modulus ranges from 1500 to 4500 MPa. Its flexural modulus ranges from 1000 to 3000 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 30000 to 50000 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 40000 to 80000 MPa. Its compressive strength ranges from 25000 to 50000 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 5 to 30 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 1 to 2 %. Its hardness ranges from 60 to 80 . Its specific gravity ranges from 1.5 to 2.1. Its coefficient of thermal expansion ranges from 15 to 30 x 10-6/°C.

Polyester is a thermoplastic or thermoset polycondensate. Common trade names are Valox and Celanex. It has excellent dimensional stability, high dielectric strength, and good toughness. It has moderate chemical resistance, low resistance to strong acids and bases, and is notch sensitive. However, it is not recommended for outdoor use or in hot water. Polyester is very popular in making clothing and handles.
