30% Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester is a subcategory of Polyester. The additative is added by weight during the manufacturing process. Its elastic modulus ranges from 700 to 3000 MPa. Its flexural modulus ranges from 1680 to 2100 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 16900 to 30000 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 21700 to 24600 MPa. Its compressive strength ranges from 9900 to 21000 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 2 to 3 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 1.7 to 2.7 %. Its hardness ranges from 61 to 87 . Its specific gravity ranges from 1.6 to 1.67. Its coefficient of thermal expansion ranges from 4.9 to 77.7 x 10-6/°C. Its molding pressure ranges from 1 to 14 MPa.
Polyester is a thermoplastic or thermoset polycondensate. Common trade names are Valox and Celanex. wholly aromatic (liquid crystal) It has excellent dimensional stability, high dielectric strength, and good toughness. It has moderate chemical resistance, low resistance to strong acids and bases, and is notch sensitive. However, it is not recommended for outdoor use or in hot water. Polyester is very popular in making clothing and handles.
