65% Mineral and Glass Filled PPS is a subcategory of Polyphenylene Sulfide. The additative is added by weight during the manufacturing process. Its flexural modulus ranges from 1800 to 2400 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 13000 to 23100 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 17500 to 33900 MPa. Its compressive strength ranges from 11000 to 32300 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 0.5 to 1.37 J/cm. Its specific gravity ranges from 1.78 to 2.03. Its coefficient of thermal expansion ranges from 12.9 to 20 x 10-6/°C. Its molding pressure ranges from 5 to 20 MPa.
Polyphenylene Sulfide, also known as PPS, is a thermoplastic polycondensate. The most common trade name is Ryton. It has high temperature resistance (230 ºC continuous), low temperature endurance, good chemical resistance, and flame retardance. PPS can be used to make high performance electrical connectors and other high stress parts.
