Mineral Filled PSU is a subcategory of Polysulfone. The additative is added during the manufacturing process. Its elastic modulus ranges from 550 to 650 MPa. Its flexural modulus ranges from 600 to 750 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 9500 to 9800 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 14300 to 15400 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 0.65 to 1 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 2 to 5 %. Its hardness ranges from 70 to 74 Rockwell M. Its specific gravity ranges from 1.48 to 1.61. Its coefficient of thermal expansion ranges from 34 to 39 x 10-6/°C. Its molding pressure ranges from 10 to 20 MPa.
Polysulfone, also known as PSU, is a thermoplastic polycondensate. The most common trade name is Ultrason. polysulfone It is an expensive material. It is electroplatable and has high strength, good toughness, good dielectric strength, and dimensional stability. It is commonly used in electric connectors.
