Unfilled Sheets, Rods and Tubes; Flexible PVC is a subcategory of Polyvinylchloride. The additative is added during the manufacturing process. Its tensile strength ranges from 1500 to 3500 MPa at break. Its compressive strength ranges from 900 to 1700 MPa. Its elongation at break ranges from 200 to 450 %. Its hardness ranges from 50 to 100 Shore A. Its specific gravity ranges from 1.16 to 1.35. Its coefficient of thermal expansion ranges from 70 to 250 x 10-6/°C. Its melting temperature ranges from 75 to 105 °C. Its molding pressure ranges from 8 to 25 MPa.
Polyvinylchloride, also known as PVC, is a thermoplastic polymer. Common trade names are Geon and Viclon. PVC and PVC-AMC Its flexible grades are easy to process; and its rigid grades are low cost and have high dielectric strength, excellent outdoor stability, good chemical resistance, and good moisture stability. Both grades have low heat resistance. It is commonly used in pipes and fittings, wire and cable insulation, extruded films and sheets, and medical applications.
