Introduction

Melamine formaldehyde, also known as MF, has been mass-produced since 1938.
  - It is a thermoset polycondensate.
- Applications: Used in molding compounds and food containers (e.g. dishes).
- General properties: It has high surface hardness and scratch resistance. High resistance to creep, heat, moisture, boiling water. High shrinkage, easy to crack in formation.
- Trade Name: Bakelite, Isomin, Melaicar, Melbrite, Melmex, Melopas, Resart, Ultrapas.
