A valve is a device that regulates the flow of a fluid by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. A pressure regulator is a valve that automatically cut-off, interfere, or release the flow of a fluid at a certain pressure in order to stop, redirect, or maintain the flow. The regulator often serves as a safety mechanism in the tubing system.
