
Aflas is the tradename for a unique fluoroelastomer based upon an alternating copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and propylene ("TFE/P"). The elastomer, when properly formulated, can be excellent heat resistance, chemical (acid and base) resistance, high electrical resistivity. It is however not suitable for sealing certain oils and solvants.

Aflas is not suitable for o-rings exposed in the environment containing chemicals such as Glacial Acetic Acid, Acetone, Carbon Tetrachloride, Chloroform, Dioxane, Ethyl Acetoacetate, Freon TF, Isopropyl Ether, Lacquer Solvents, Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK), Toluene.
