Glossary » Design » Oring » Material » Fluorosilicone

Fluorosilicone combines excellent low-temperature performance of silicone with improved chemical resistance. It has very good resistance to military and aerospace fuels. Excellent performance in oxygen plasma environments. It is rather vulnerable to polar solvents and hydro-carbon fluids and has limited abrasion resistance.

Fluorosilicone is suitable for dynamic and static seal of o-rings in the environment containing the following chemicals: Acetamide, Acetyl Chloride, Air below 200 C, Aluminium Chloride, Aluminium Flouride, Aluminium Sulfate, Concentrated Ammonium Hydroxide, Ammonium Sulfate, Amyl Alcohol, Animal Oil, ASTM Oil One, ASTM Oil Three, ASTM Oil Two, Beer, Benzine (Ligroin), Benzophenone, Benzyl Benzoate, Boric Acid, Bunker Oil, Butter, Butyl Alcohol, Calcium Carbonate, Calcium Chloride, Calcium Nitrate, Calcium Sulfide, Carbonic Acid, Castor Oil, Chlorinated Solvents, Dry Chlorine, Chromic Acid, Citric Acid, Cod Liver Oil, Coffee, Corn Oil, Coal Tar Creosote, Denatured Alcohol, Diesel Oil, Di-ester Lubricant MIL-L-7808, Diethylamine Glycol, Dow Guard, Dowtherm A, Elco 28 Lubricant, Ethanol, Ethyl Alcohol, Ethyl Benzene, Ethyl Benzoate, Ethyl Chloride, Ethyl Formate, Ethyl Hexanol, Ethyl Silicate, Ethylene, Ethylene Glycol, Fuel Oil, Gallic Acid, Automotive Gasoline, Gelatine, Glucose, Glycerin, General Glycol, Petroleum Base Grease, Helium, Heptane, Hexane, Petroleum Base Hydraulic Oil, Hydrobromic Acid, Iodine, Kerosene, Animal Fat Lard, Linsed Oil, Petroleum Base Lubricating Oils, Mercuric Chloride, Methanol, Methyl Alcohol, Methyl Bromide, Methyl Ether, MIL-F-25558 (RJ-1), MIL-H-5606, MIL-H-7083, Milk, MIL-R-25576 (RP-1), Type 1 Fuel MIL-S-3136, MIL-S-81087, Mineral Oils, Monovinyl Acetate, Naphthalene, Naphthalenic, Neatsfoot Oil, Gas Nitrogen, Oleic Acid, Oronite 8200, Oxalic Acid, Cold Oxygen, Ozone, Peanut Oil, Petroleum Oil, Phosphoric Trichloride, Pine Oil, Potassium Nitrate, Potassium Sulfate, Propanol, Propyl Alcohol, 90E 65E 50E 30E Pydraul, Transformer Oil Pyranol, Rapeseed Oil, Red Oil, RJ-1 (MIL-F-25558), RP-1 (MIL-R-25576), Sea Water, Silicone Grease, Silicone Oils, Silver Nitrate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Chloride, Soyabean Oil, Stoddard Solvent, Sulfur Chloride, Tannic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Tetrabutyl Titanate, Tetralin, Type A Transmission Fluid, Fresh Water, Whiskey, White Pine Tar.
