30-35% Glass Fiber Reinforced PA is a subcategory of Polyamide. The additative is added by weight during the manufacturing process. Its elastic modulus ranges from 1250 to 1600 MPa. Its flexural modulus ranges from 1250 to 1400 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 24000 to 27600 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 34000 to 36000 MPa. Its compressive strength ranges from 19000 to 24000 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 2.1 to 3.4 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 2.2 to 3.6 %. Its hardness ranges from 93 to 96 Rockwell M. Its specific gravity ranges from 1.35 to 1.42. Its coefficient of thermal expansion ranges from 16 to 80 x 10-6/°C. Its melting temperature ranges from 210 to 220 °C. Its molding pressure ranges from 2 to 20 MPa.
Polyamide, also known as PA, is a thermoplastic polycondensate. Common trade names are Ultramid and Zytel. nylon (PA 6) It has high lubricity and moderate strength. It is tough, inexpensive, but has poor dimensional stability due to water absorption (hygroscopic nature). PA is commonly used to make high-lubricity parts such as bearings, blow moldings molds, and clothing fabrics.
