Glossary » Materials » Polymers » Polyester » Unfilled
Unfilled Polyester is a subcategory of Polyester. The additative is added during the manufacturing process. Its flexural modulus ranges from 210 to 280 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 4900 to 6300 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 7100 to 8700 MPa. Its elongation at break ranges from 150 to 300 %. Its hardness ranges from 101 to 115 Rockwell R. Its specific gravity ranges from 1.23 to 1.25. Its molding pressure ranges from 5 to 17 MPa.
Polyester is a thermoplastic or thermoset polycondensate. Common trade names are Valox and Celanex. alloy It has excellent dimensional stability, high dielectric strength, and good toughness. It has moderate chemical resistance, low resistance to strong acids and bases, and is notch sensitive. However, it is not recommended for outdoor use or in hot water. Polyester is very popular in making clothing and handles.
