30% Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester is a subcategory of Polyester. The additative is added by weight during the manufacturing process. Its flexural modulus ranges from 1200 to 1450 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 18000 to 19500 MPa at break. Its flexural strength ranges from 24000 to 29800 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 1.3 to 1.8 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 1.9 to 2.3 %.
Polyester is a thermoplastic or thermoset polycondensate. Common trade names are Valox and Celanex. poly(cyclohexylene-methylene-terephthalate) It has excellent dimensional stability, high dielectric strength, and good toughness. It has moderate chemical resistance, low resistance to strong acids and bases, and is notch sensitive. However, it is not recommended for outdoor use or in hot water. Polyester is very popular in making clothing and handles.
