60% Glass and Mineral Reinforced PPS is a subcategory of Polyphenylene Sulfide. The additative is added by weight during the manufacturing process. Its coefficient of thermal expansion ranges from 14.3 to 14.8 x 10-6/°C. Its melting temperature ranges from 275 to 285 °C.
Polyphenylene Sulfide, also known as PPS, is a thermoplastic polycondensate. The most common trade name is Ryton. It has high temperature resistance (230 ºC continuous), low temperature endurance, good chemical resistance, and flame retardance. PPS can be used to make high performance electrical connectors and other high stress parts.
Additional Information
Other common Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) include Unfilled PPS, 10-20% Glass Fiber Reinforced PPS, 30% Glass Fiber Reinforced PPS, 40% Glass Fiber Reinforced PPS, 53% Glass / Mineral Reinforced High Elongation and Impact PPS, 30% Glass Fiber, 15% PTFE PPS, 30% Long Glass Fiber Reinforced PPS, 40% Long Glass Fiber Reinforced PPS, 50% Long Glass Fiber Reinforced PPS, 60% Long Glass Fiber Reinforced PPS, 65% Mineral and Glass Filled PPS, 50% Glass and Mineral Reinforced PPS, 55% Glass and Mineral Reinforced PPS, Encapsulation Grades PPS, 60% Stainless Steel EMI Shielding (conductive) PPS, 30% Carbon Fiber EMI Shielding (conductive) PPS, 40% PAN Carbon Fiber EMI Shielding (conductive) PPS, and 30% PAN Carbon Fiber, 15% PTFE EMI Shielding (conductive) PPS.
