High Heat Resistant, Injection Molding PS is a subcategory of Polystyrene. It is specially formulated to high heat resistant, injection molding. Its elastic modulus ranges from 440 to 490 MPa. Its flexural modulus ranges from 450 to 490 MPa. Its tensile strength ranges from 7100 to 8100 MPa at break. Its compressive strength ranges from 11400 to 14200 MPa. Its Izod Impact strength ranges from 0.4 to 0.6 J/cm. Its elongation at break ranges from 1.7 to 1.9 %. Its specific gravity ranges from 1.07 to 1.1. Its coefficient of thermal expansion ranges from 65 to 67 x 10-6/°C.
Polystyrene, also known as PS, is a thermoplastic polymer. The most common trade name is Novacor 555. copolymer It is an inexpensive material that is not structurally strong but easy to mold. It machines well, and is highly transparent. PS is commonly used for inexpensive packaging materials, pens, safety razors, flatware, and CD jewel boxes. In Styrofoam forms, PS is used to make high-throughput, thin-walled, easy-to-mold parts where structure is not paramount.
Additional Information
Other common Polystyrene (PS) include High and Medium Flow PS, Heat Resistant PS, 20% Long and Short Glass Fiber Reinforced PS, Rubber-Modified Flame-Retardant, UL-V0 PS, Rubber-Modified High Impact PS, Molding and Extrusion PS, Olefin Rubber Modified PS, 20% Glass Fiber Reinforced PS, Clear PS, Extrusion, Blow Molding, Injection Molding Grades PS, Clear Styrene Butadiene Copolymers PS, Molding and Extrusion PS, Impact Modified PS, 20% Glass Fiber Reinforced PS, Impact Modified High Heat Resistant PS, 20% Glass Fiber Reinforced High Heat Resistant PS, PS, and 20% PAN Carbon Fiber EMI Shielding (conductive) PS.
