Introduction

Polyethylene, also known as PE, has been mass-produced since 1939.
-	It is a thermoplastic polymer.
-	Applications: PE is the largest volume commodity plastic. It is widely used in blow-molded beverage bottles, auto gas tanks, and extruded pipes.
-	General properties: It has good toughness at low temperatures and is inexpensive.
