Introduction

Polyester has been mass-produced since 1942.
-	It is a thermoplastic or thermoset polycondensate.
-	Applications: Polyester is very popular in making clothing and handles.
-	General properties: It has excellent dimensional stability, high dielectric strength, and good toughness. It has moderate chemical resistance, low resistance to strong acids and bases, and is notch sensitive. However, it is not recommended for outdoor use or in hot water.
-	Trade Name: Valox, Celanex.
